Founded in 1976 by Otto Rusch, Washburn Iron Works, Incorporated started life producing Apostle Island barrel stove kits
for area hardware store chains.

It didn't take long to establish Washburn Iron as a quality foundry
with the capabilities to pour gray, or ductile irons ranging in weight
from ounces up to 250#.

In 1996, to commemorate our 20th. anniversary,
area art students created a mural on the original building
depicting various scenes of foundry operations.

As we move into our fourth decade,
Washburn Iron Works, inc. continues to be
one of the best jobbing shops in the industry!
